Montichelvo: The Beauty of our place in the sun

Activities & Attractions

Valencia can be a region of clichés: the light, the moon, the gun-powder, the paella, the flowers, the fallas... they are keys which attempt to explain what words cannot tell. It is necessary to visit this area and get to know Valéncia to verify that centenary traditions live together with modernity; that sea and city are compatible; that the green colour of farms can be kept together with a modern urban scheme; that Valencia is unique at night and during the day.

Oceanographic Nights in Valencia

Dolphins, synchronised swimming and music: the Oceanographic Nights, that are held in the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias de Valencia (City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia), offer an innovative show for the whole family: a nocturnal exhibition of dolphins that swim alongside a professional team of synchronised swimmers… a delight to behold. Cultural Nights in Gandia

Summertime is the time chosen for Gandia's "Festival Internacional de Música Clásica" (International Classical Music Festival), programmed together with parallel activities. With the ‘Palacio de los Borja’ (the Palace of the Borja) as an exceptional focal point, there are concerts of classical music with chamber groups, orchestras and soloists from all over Europe.

Ceramics & Sacred Art - Ducal Palace Gandia

The Ducal Palace collection is focussed around two themes, ceramics and sacred art. The first sample consists of tiles corresponding to the Casa de los Borja. The adornments of the Salón de Coronas composed of tiles from Manises from the XV century, are considered to be one of the most important elements of the history of Valencian ceramics. However, the Ducal Palace also has the crucifix of San Francisco de Borja, an object of enormous emotive and artistic value. A visit to the facilities reveals six centuries of the history of the Palace of the Borja since each one of the rooms contains different elements from several architectural styles, such as Gothic, baroque, Renaissance and Neo classical.

Parish Church in Bocairent

The temple was built upon the remains of the former Arabic castle, in its construction there are artistic details from the Gothic period and the XIX century. In its interior there is a baptismal font which was formerly a public fountain worked in stone. The chapel of San Blas, in the “churrigueresco” style is presided over by the image of the saint. The main altar shows El Salvador painted by Jose Segrelles, the altarpieces are by Joan de Joanes and his daughters. In the sacristy there is a sketch of the “Last Supper” by Ribalta, whilst in a contiguous room, is “el estandarte de San Blas” painted by Joaquín Sorolla.

The region of Valencia is getting more and more popular among tourists, not only because of its beautiful landscape area, the good weather and the nice beaches. During your stay you will find that there are a lot of different activities in which you could participate, whether you’re living there or just spending your holiday. People who like sports (indoor or outdoor) will feel right at home, as will those that like sailing, culture, dancing and the beach life. In short: there are so many things to do in Valencia, you won’t easily get bored, even if you tried!
